Car history: |
As you can see this is not your typical '69 Corvette. This is a one of a kind, completely custom roadster, hand built on a '69 L-71 chassis. All mechanical components were replaced with new parts and upgraded. This include the A/C, Power Disc Brakes on all four corners and Power Steering. The drive train has just over 1000 miles, however the dash cluster came from a '80's vette and the speedo shows 47,XXX miles. The drive train is 100% high performance with an LS-6 454 exploding with 535 horsepower, as dynoed by the engine builder. The engine features Merlin High Compression Heads and redesigned cooling system to allow the use of the A/C during 100 degree days without overheating. Something that no '69 Corvette could ever do. The power is transfered to the rear 15" Crager Chrome Wire Wheels wrapped in BF Goodrich TA Radials (matched at the front as well) by a 6 speed Doug Nash Transmission with 5th and 6th gear overdrives. The clutch is a 13" racing Centerforce clutch with steel shatter shield. The interior is almost all new, with beautiful black leather seats. Everything works too. The body and fenders were widen 8" to allow for maximum tire size to accomodate the power of the drive train and to increase road handling. This car handlings like its on slots without the harsh ride of a typical Corvette. Over $50,000 and 5 years were spent building this car and it's truely one of my father's favorite cars. When he bought the donor chassis, the car was not running but was complete. The trim plate around the shifter, etc said it was an L-71. Not being a "corvette" guy that's all I can tell you. Color codes from the owner. Built date is P18. July 15, 2010. |
